Data collected on the website

The website and app download are hosted on our server. When you open a page or download the app, your browser sends the server your IP address, request time, requested file and technical browser information. This information may be kept in server logs to operate and protect the website.

Website analytics is currently disabled: the website does not load Google Analytics or send page-view or download-click events. Ordinary requests to our server still occur when you open pages or download the app.

Data collected in the app

Firebase Analytics is enabled after you give consent in the app. App analytics collection is off before you choose and if you decline. The service uses a technical app-instance identifier and may automatically collect information about the app version, operating system and usage. We also send events when the panel opens, a block is created, an app is added to the grid, or Layotic is updated. We do not add the names, paths or contents of installed apps to those events. You can withdraw or give consent at any time in Layotic settings.

Your grid, blocks and Layotic settings are stored on your Mac. We do not send their contents to Firebase Analytics. For gestures, the app may request macOS Input Monitoring permission. To optionally block a system swipe, it may also request Accessibility permission. The app handles those events on your Mac and does not add their data to the analytics events we send.

If update checking is configured, the app connects to an update server. That server receives ordinary technical connection information, including your IP address.

Email correspondence

If you email us, we receive your email address, the message and any materials you attach. We use them to reply and handle your request.

Why we process data

• Delivering pages, files and updates, and protecting the site and app: to provide the requested service and for our legitimate interest in its security.
• App analytics: to understand how Layotic is used and improve the product, only with your consent, which you can withdraw in settings.
• Responding to messages and requests: to communicate with you and meet data-protection obligations.

Who receives data

Technical website data reaches our server. After your consent, Google receives app analytics events through Firebase Analytics. If you email us, Google's email service processes your message. The update server receives network requests when the app checks for updates.

Google services may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. See Google's information about transfer mechanisms.

How long data is kept

Server logs are kept for as long as needed to run and protect the website, subject to the server settings. App analytics events are kept for the period configured in the relevant Google Analytics property, then deleted according to Google's rules. We keep correspondence until the request is complete and afterwards only when needed to meet applicable obligations or protect legitimate interests.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction or deletion of your data, restriction of processing, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where the law provides, you may also request data portability. Email feedbacklayotic@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

Changes to this policy

If our data processing changes, we will update this page and the date shown above.
